
Mr. Marchessault has 24 years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry before going into consulting in 2002. Positions included Apprentice Power Plant Operator, Meter Specialist, Electrician 1st Class (electrical work from 24 volts DC to 115,000 volts AC) and finally Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. After completing his 4-year electrical apprenticeship program, he attended college in the Electrical Engineering field for 3 years, then changed course and obtained a degree in business administration. Continuing his education, he obtained a second degree with a concentration in behavioral psychology. As a Safety Consultant, he continues to work with utilities, general industry and construction specializing in Electrical Safety. He has authored several articles for various safety publications, developed a successful “people-focused” safety program, and speaks at national events and conferences including National Safety Council Congress, Incident Prevention Conference, Electric Power Conference, and many Utility Safety conferences each year. His volunteer positions have included; President and Board Chair for Vermont Utilities for Electrical Education, Inc., Editor of the National Safety Council Utilities Division Newsletter, and Safety Director/Officer for the Vermont Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. He is an active member in many safety and electrical-related organizations including the Electric Division of the National Fire Protection Association, Utilities Division of the National Safety Council, IEEE, and ASSE. He continues to maintain his electrical license and commercial driver’s license and holds several safety certifications including the National Safety Council’s Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA) and is a 10 and 30- hour General Industry trainer. |
